Posted 30 Dec 2020 by RFGuy_KCCO Post: I think the problem is solved, but I can't check it since my machine is not allowed now. My problems were also due to this issue. I have removed the costamagnagianfranco version of BOINC from all of my machines and installed the 7.16.6 version from the official repo. Could you please whitelist my machines? I will watch them closely and make sure I see the work processing longer than a few seconds and completing. Thanks! Host ID's: 272 274 275 276 277 279 280 281 283 1826 |

Posted 21 Dec 2020 by RFGuy_KCCO Post: You’re upset? I’m livid. I’m user 111 and I wasted a bunch of electricity on your project. I had no idea your project is broken on newer Linux kernels. Don’t worry, though, I’ll delete your project from all my machines and won’t crunch it again. There are plenty of other projects that work just fine on newer kernels. Understood. I apologize for my defensive attitude in my last post. I just felt I was being attacked a bit. I also apologize for all the bad WUs. It certainly wasn't my intention to cause problems. The WUs were completing normally (albeit quickly, but I just thought it was a new type of work) when I left home for the weekend, so I didn't suspect any problems. I have clearly crunched this project quite a bit in the past, so didn't think my machines would have issues. I apologize again for the trouble I caused. I hope you can find a fix that allows the use of newer kernels, so I can crunch your project again in the future. |

Posted 14 Jan 2020 by RFGuy_KCCO Post: Choice #2 is fine with me. However, if the WU's do end up taking days to complete, perhaps consider paying bonus credit for completing them, as some other projects - PrimeGrid, for example - do for long WU's. |
