I selected the users who participated in the tests of the application (NWChem long) and the chaotic versions of NWchem (normal queue) and add the beta badge. Strange. I have the beta badge, but i'm not in the list... |

Posted 2 Feb 2020 by [VENETO] boboviz Post: You're right, for lack of time, I jumped to the conclusion very quickly. I exchanged courteous e-mails with the user. I always give the benefit of the doubt and in this case the truth is more subtle. His intention was not to cheat on credits, but to store a lot of work units. You can, if you want, limit wus per host very easily https://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki/ProjectOptions#Joblimits |

(Message 471)
Posted 30 Jan 2020 by [VENETO] boboviz Post: Yesterday, I had to suspend an account for two weeks and remove credits, for obvious credit cheating. I'm quite annoyed that instead of doing science, I have to deal with this kind of behavior. We're small and we're short on time and it doesn't help scientific research... I like science and hate cheaters. So, i'm waiting for new simulations... |

A new science carries risks. Updated: Choice 1: 0 Choice 2: 12 It's the same: 1 Both (with two apps): 4 |

Despite i prefer the "two app solution (big wus/small wus)", i voted for the choice 2 (only big simulation), because i think that admins (they are only 2, with a lot of other work commitements) cannot manage a too complex situation, with different apps, with different bugs, etc. |

How to use all resources?
(Message 404)
Posted 8 Jan 2020 by [VENETO] boboviz Post: I don't know if this argument was solved in this forum..........but this is my problem: I have an "old" 24 Xeon cpu (with 20 gb of ram). I set up to use 100% of cpu (and it runs correctly with all projects), but with Quchem i have this situation: Only 6 wus run (25% of cpu usage) Some wus have "waiting for memory" message, but i have over 10gb of free ram. Waiting for a native windows app, i'd like to try to solve this situation. |
