Looking at my last workunit , i see all the other wus , crunched by my wingmen are faulty.

Curiously all the computers belongs to the same person , so all my wingmen are the same man.

How is it possible ?

I'm sure the wu is valid.

Stop him , or it won' t keep any wus soon.

i looked what he is doing. He is at first working with the full processors and maybe had not installed the extension pack
if you are from the university you must send him at first an email with the requirement needed to compute for research
but he is one of such bad guys that operate by Qchem or LHC and are régulary rejected for bad work.
I am disapointed when i see my compting time finishing as invalid because i am victim from such guys

i think you must also explain him that bad work is a déposit of police request for international tribunal and it is better for him to do what you will explain to him for health security and "artificial intelligence" in the hospital

I hope Damotbe can delete all the wus processed by him , and make the server goes on normally.
So our work is not wasted.
But the most important is to set the server to send wus to different persons.(security and reliability reasons). To avoid same situation.

You’re upset? I’m livid. I’m user 111 and I wasted a bunch of electricity on your project. I had no idea your project is broken on newer Linux kernels. Don’t worry, though, I’ll delete your project from all my machines and won’t crunch it again. There are plenty of other projects that work just fine on newer kernels.

I have a number of tasks with "impossible to validate" result. This because all wingmen have failed to validate. Then I have other tasks with "validation inconclusive". Then I have some "waiting for validation". I am using a Windows 10 PC with Virtual Box and an old Linux laptop with SuSE Leap 15.0. My RAC rank is now 44 and I am satisfied with this result. I have left only a Linux Virtual Machine on a Windows host running SuSE Tumbleweed with kernel 5.9.14 which does not give me any credit because it is enlisted in Science United. I have seen the BOINC home page with great emphasis on Science United. I have processed 44491 Milkyway@home tasks without getting a single credit and I abandoned Science United except the Linux Virtual Machine.

I'm not upset about you.

I'm upset of this new bug. I no longer have an intern or engineer at the moment. Plenty of molecules were lost because your machines emptied half of the stock. it's exhausting !

Understood. I apologize for my defensive attitude in my last post. I just felt I was being attacked a bit.

I also apologize for all the bad WUs. It certainly wasn't my intention to cause problems. The WUs were completing normally (albeit quickly, but I just thought it was a new type of work) when I left home for the weekend, so I didn't suspect any problems. I have clearly crunched this project quite a bit in the past, so didn't think my machines would have issues. I apologize again for the trouble I caused. I hope you can find a fix that allows the use of newer kernels, so I can crunch your project again in the future.

Plenty of molecules were lost

What does this "loss of molecules" means with regard of the scientific aim of the project? Will these molecules be recomputed by someone else or the fact that they were considered as "not converging" will make the AI to discard these molecules? And perhaps also influencing the proposal of new molecules to analyze... If the second option is the case, isn't the science of your project seriously put at risk by this accident?

no, fortunately no scientific problem. But some volunteers have lost a lot of computing time and I will have to intervene manually to get them recalculated.

I think the problem is solved, but I can't check it since my machine is not allowed now.
It was not the Linux kernel version, but BOINC 7.16.14, which I obtained from PPA costamagnagianfranco.

I fixed it with the expert advice from Gunde on the LHC forum, where I could not run CMS (a VirtualBox project).
https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/forum_thread.php?id=5560
Basically, if you have that PPA version, you go to "software and update" and uncheck line for that PPA then:
sudo apt remove boinc-client boinc-manager
sudo apt install boinc-client boinc-manager

That will install BOINC from the apt repository.
In the case of Ubuntu 20.04.1, it will be BOINC 7.16.6.
In the case of Ubuntu 18.04.5, it will be BOINC 7.9.3.
Either should work with QuChemPedIA, I expect.

This solution seems to work !
If you have a blacklisted host and want to test the patch, ask me for whitelist.

My problems were also due to this issue. I have removed the costamagnagianfranco version of BOINC from all of my machines and installed the 7.16.6 version from the official repo. Could you please whitelist my machines? I will watch them closely and make sure I see the work processing longer than a few seconds and completing. Thanks!
