I think those invalid tasks should return credits as well.... if that was the case, this project would probably be much more popular. Because one should be rewarded for the computation time, not the results only. It would be more consistent. That said... I will soon have some more hosts running QuChem ^_^

I think as a test I will let this one reach 100% to see what happens. The 50% failing workunits are normal for this project, right? As before, many calculations will be considered invalid because of unstable molecules, but this is the price for unbiased cartography of the chemical space It's strange because it's a little like playing the WU - lottery, but I think I will stick to the project if I don't encounter more problems. EDIT: Maybe the workunits should abort themselfes if the conditions for them not progressing are met.
3) Message boards : Number crunching : Never ending tasks (Message 1421) Posted 23 May 2021 by TankbusterGames Post: I have some Tasks running for hours... one is at 98.731% but it gains like 0.001 every minute. some say "VM job unmanageable" as well. Probably some Virtual Box issues. Some tasks however finish up nicely within two hours.... Is it normal for some tasks to take two hours and for others to take 11 hours? out of 21 tasks, 11 ended with "Confirmation failure " and 10 ended up "Done and Confirmed" Am I wasting 50% of my CPU time calculating for this project? The inconsistency of the tasks leaves a bad feeling behind. I don't want to spend CPUtime computing tasks that will likely end up in Error or are corrupted and just waste my CPU time. EDIT: All my tasks are "NWChem 0.11" Tasks
