A fairly common reason for the failures is that they are running BOINC 7.16.14 or 7.16.16.
They have not been reading the forum:

Silly question but is there a way to notify someone that they need a different version of boinc? Do we know if a personal message is sent, is the default behaviour that an email is sent to that person to notify them of a personal message? Or is there a way for the server to not send work to people with the wrong boinc version?

Cheers

Good question... Some features are not so far from that, but not exactly what I need...

Hostid 5668 is mine.
~850 invalids.

I don't know what's happening, sorry.
Can you help me to solve?

Yeah, my BOINC version is right.

Meanwhile I believe that I have found what is causing validate errors.

That is
YIELD_SLEEP_TIME="1000" LD_PRELOAD="/lib/libsleepboinc.so" boinc
instead of
boinc

I use to start BOINC like that because it fixes the bug of 100% CPU usage for some OpenCL apps.
I tried to start BOINC by the second command above and I didn't see early failures on QuChemPedIA. I started BOINC again by the first command and the same task failed after 4 seconds.
https://quchempedia.univ-angers.fr/athome/result.php?resultid=7052813
So, now I know that I have to choose between QuChemPedIA and those OpenCL apps...

I should have said that 7.16.14 doesn't work. Neither does 7.16.16.
The Locutus of Borg repository does not have the correct libraries with 7.16.14 and thereafter apparently.

But yes, 7.16.6 should work (both of my machines use it), and so should 7.16.11 for that matter.
So you need to rely on whatever your distribution provides you by default, since they package it up correctly it seems.
At least it installs correctly for Ubuntu by just using "sudo apt install boinc".

360 was good some days ago, now it isn't.

361 too. Fortunately it's not crunching.
